Unleashing the benefits of technology in higher education

At the end of February in our Birmingham office, we teamed up with the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI) again to host the second of our series of roundtable events, this time on the impact of technology on higher education. We were delighted to be joined by Stian Westlake, Policy Adviser to the Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, who gave the opening address.

It was attended by senior leaders from across the region, and it built on our recent technology themed edition of HE Matters, with a lively discussion about the long term strategic challenges facing higher education institutions. You can read a summary of the key points raised on the HEPI blog.

Our research programme with HEPI aims to help all of us working with, and in, the university sector think about the future, focusing on three areas - internationalisation, the use of new technology; and the role of governance and leadership in strategic planning.

A final summary report will be launched at the HEPI Annual conference in June 2018. Our quarterly online newsletter HE Matters will also continue to share insights from the research as they emerge via our subject matter experts (subscribe here).
