PwC comments on phase 2 of the Apprenticeship Trailblazer

Gaenor Bagley, PwC head of people, said:

“We are proud to be part of the Government’s Trailblazer in Accountancy, which looks to make Apprenticeships more responsive to the needs of employers and strengthen their position as a credible route into the accountancy profession. At PwC we have collaborated with employers from across the sector to drive the development of new Apprenticeship standards. Working together employers can ensure this trailblazer benefits employers of all sizes and allows our sector to develop and retain the talent we need to grow our businesses.

“We were the first professional services firm to launch a Higher Apprenticeship programme in 2012 and since then, applications at this level have increased significantly. By offering Higher Apprenticeship we are able to attract the most talented people, regardless of background and add a new dimension to PwC teams across Consulting, Tax, Audit and Assurance. We structured our Apprenticeship programme around our business needs which means we are providing our apprentices with the training and work experience they need to progress within the industry, whilst also developing the skills that support economic growth.”

PwC is also supporting today’s launch of the Government apprenticeship campaign, ‘Get in, Go far’. This aims to show ambitious young people that apprenticeships are a real alternative to university, by profiling apprenticeships at some of Britain’s biggest and brightest companies.

Notes to editor

In total we will recruit almost 140 Higher Apprentices across the UK firm this year

PwC Higher Apprentice, Ziyad Patel, will be profiled in the government campaign ‘Get in. Go far.’ For interviews with Ziyad or any of PwC’s Higher Apprentices please contact; [email protected]

PwC has been recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service as a Top 100 Apprentice employer.
