  • PwC wins London regional Apprentice Employer Newcomer of the Year and is recognised in the national top three.

PwC, the professional services firm, has been recognised in the prestigious Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list which is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City & Guilds.

The list was announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took place during The Skills Show in Birmingham on 14th November. The Awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the achievements of the country’s most outstanding apprentices and apprenticeship employers.

PwC also won the London region Investors in People Award for ‘Apprenticeship Employer Newcomer of the Year' and was recognised in the national top three.

PwC was the first firm to launch a Higher Apprenticeship in professional services in 2012. Students qualify at level 4, equivalent to the first rung on the Higher Education ladder, and have the opportunity to be operating at the same level in the organisation as their graduate peers after as little as two years. Higher Apprenticeship roles are based across England and Northern Ireland.

Gaenor Bagley, head of people at PwC, said:

“We’re delighted to be recognised as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer. Apprentices meet a genuine business need in our organisation and our Higher Apprenticeship programme provides first class training and experience. Higher Apprenticeships are an exciting opportunity for employers to develop the business leaders of tomorrow and support UK growth.”

Richard Irwin, head of student recruitment, said:

“We have recruited over 150 Higher Apprentices since launching the programme back in 2012. Employing apprentices allows us to diversify our intake by recruiting talented students who want to get into business straight from school or college, but without compromising on high quality training and fantastic long term career development opportunities.”
