Garda strikes due to take place in November - Ireland

The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) have announced a “sustained campaign of industrial action”. It is set to coincide with a strike by over 10,000 rank and file gardaí. The industrial action will take place on November 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Contingency plans have not yet been discussed and currently the Minister is trying to focus on finding a resolution. The Department of Justice is to meet with the AGSI and the GRA in an attempt to avert planned industrial action.

Should these planned strikes go ahead, there is likely to be an impact on the whole of Ireland and possible delays with GNIB registrations. Individuals based outside of Dublin will be unable to register with the GNIB on those dates.
