October 23, 2018 Steering through the headwinds: Optimising deal returns in a hotel sector facing weaker growth Hotel deal volumes in the UK have continued to soar in 2018 and we expect them to reach around £6.8 billion by the end of the year, higher than the initial estimate (£6 billion) in our Hotels Forecast earlier in the year. Yet, as the investor profile evolves and margins come under pressure, 2018 looks set to be the high water mark. Despite continued appetite for hotel investment in the UK, we expect deal volumes to fall by around a third to around £4.5 billion in 2019.
