Working together to reduce disaster risk

PwC’s Business Resilience team recently supported the UN's continuing efforts to provide Disaster Risk Reduction in the world's most vulnerable communities by participating in the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) conference in Geneva. During this conference our team delivered a Crisis Management exercise to UNISDR representatives in order to show the potential impacts of an incident and the advantages of multi-organisation collaboration in its management.
The crisis simulation was a success as it drove lots of discussions between private sector, NGO's and local governments in understanding the importance of working together. This was followed up by workshops discussing Business Resilience and challenged the thoughts of participants on how this could be implemented in practice.
