Helping you set up, manage, improve and control your major contracts

In recent years the scope and complexity of third party relationships have continued to increase as companies outsource activities, build capital projects, enter into joint ventures and invest abroad.  Here in the West and across the UK, the current economic conditions present challenging times for contractors.

There is an increasing focus on confirmation of economic and operational value from existing arrangements and, where necessary, renegotiation to ensure that contracting relationships remain fit for purpose.

We help our public and private sector clients to bring rigour and challenge when entering into new contracts, reviewing existing relationships and delivering strategic relationship management through an approach which integrates compliance, risk and performance management. Our work has shown that reliance on a legal contract is not enough unless you can harness value, minimise risk and manage delivery through effective relationship and contract management.

We have seen how critical it is to have the right skills in place early in the contracting process.  Where skills gaps arise we are able to provide expertise and tools locally to support clients through initial contract scoping to negotiation, management and exit/renegotiation. The scope of our work, which we call Commercial Assurance, can vary enormously but often the core objective is the same, to ensure that organisations third party arrangements deliver value for money and are well controlled.

PwC are committed to providing support to organisations in the West which will help them to transform their approach to managing their major third party relationships with sustainable bottom line results.
