Pensions Round Table events: Setting a course through the pensions storm
24th May (West Sussex), 28th May (Reading) and 30th May (Uxbridge)
Managing your legacy defined benefit pension scheme has never been easy, but financial conditions have been particularly treacherous for scheme sponsors in recent months. Funding plans have been thrown off course by waves of economic uncertainty and market turmoil driving up pension liabilities and deficits. How can plan sponsors steady the ship and set a course towards cost and risk reduction despite the pensions storm?
We are delighted to invite you to our first 'Pensions Round Table - Setting a course through the pensions storm' which will address the current challenges facing companies that sponsor defined benefit pension schemes.
The topics covered will include:
- Our latest thinking on funding valuations in 2012, and how employers can look to tackle these effectively, whilst preserving and enhancing goodwill with the trustees;
- Developments from Government and the Pensions Regulator in the area of liability management and how PwC's fresh approach can increase the effectiveness of these exercises;
- Current activity and opportunities in buy-outs and risk reduction transactions;
- Putting together a robust strategy to pension risk reduction.
The aim of this event will be to discuss these issues, drawing on PwC's wide experience of helping companies manage pension cost and risk and also that of members of the audience. We will illustrate our discussion with relevant case studies. Several members of our South East pensions team and some of our national experts will be available both before and after the session if there are any issues that you would like to discuss further.
