Private business: inventing Britain’s future

Recently, we caught up with James Dyson and asked him for his views on the future of innovation and how research and development (R&D) can really add value for private businesses. James passionately believes that in order to survive and prosper in the years ahead UK businesses will need to innovate and export.

“We have a problem in the West. We’re no longer the only ones producing the good ideas. The East has its own, and a growing workforce of highly skilled brains to develop them. Graduates are plentiful and so is their ambition.

High value, high technology exports must be at the heart of our economic recovery. But success demands making something better than anyone else, approaching it from a new angle. Technology, underpinned by investment in R&D, is our opportunity – and private companies are often best placed to develop it.”

The article itself is an interesting challenge for private business so why don't you visit the PwC Private business and private clients web page to read the whole thing. It will also be featured in the next edition of our Private business magazine due out soon  If you’d like to receive a copy of this, please email Laura Baldock at private.business@uk.pwc.com. Happy reading!
