PwC comment on today's social care funding story

Published at 11:12 AM on 12 December 2016

Commenting on today's story of ministers considering local council tax rise to cover social care funding, Alan Milburn, former Health Secretary and chair of the PwC Health Industries Oversight Board, said:

"It is welcome that the Government is looking at how to properly resource social care. A long-term funding solution is needed alongside a reform plan to integrate health and social care.

"PwC's recent report Redrawing the Health and Social Care Architecture, found that the artificial divide between health and social care makes little sense and the balance of power needs to move from national to local level where services are delivered."
