AS 2014 – PwC comments on regional economy

Published at 14:34 PM on 03 December 2014

In response to the Chancellor’s announcements on small business support, road and rail improvements and the North science hub, Stephanie Hyde, PwC Executive Board member and head of regions, commented:

"Small and medium businesses, the majority of which are outside London, have three things on the top of their wishlist: better connectivity, both in the real and digital worlds e.g. transport, broadband; investment in talent and skills; and more say in the local decisions that affect them.

"Today's announcements on small business support, road and rail improvements and the North science hub are welcome news for the regional economy and step in the right direction. What's now important is delivery and businesses will be looking to the government to keep their promises. "
