Published at 12:00 PM on 21 October 2013

An opportunity to celebrate the breadth and depth of the blossoming UK tech market

The shortlist for the UK tech awards, sponsored by PwC, demonstrates that the UK tech sector continues to thrive due to home grown innovation and talent. The growth prospects for the UK tech sector remain positive, as companies focus on innovation, meeting changing consumer needs and expansion into new markets.

Jass Sarai, UK technology leader at PwC, said:

“In our continuing support of the UK tech sector, we have updated the techMARK awards to reflect the UK technology industry as it is today, by creating the UK Tech Awards.

“The UK tech awards now reflect the contribution all companies make to the industry and includes not only publicly quoted techMARK companies, but also AIM tech companies and fast growing and innovative privately owned tech companies which we are pleased to welcome this year.

“The awards celebrate the success; reward the achievements and raise the profile of the UK tech community. This year we also acknowledge the role technology plays in creating competitive advantage in other sectors such as retail, property and travel through our newly created Digital Economy Award.”

The winners of the UK tech awards will be announced at a gala ceremony to be held at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on Wednesday 20 November 2013.
