Administrators say business as usual at Fultons Furnishing.

Administrators, Stephen Cave and Paul Rooney, from PwC have confirmed business as usual at the specialist furnishing retailer, Fultons Fine Furnishing.

Joint Administrator Stephen Cave says they have completed the first stage of a review of the property and trading operations:

“I can confirm that we are continuing to trade the retail businesses will do so for the foreseeable future.

“However, in order to ensure business as usual in the specialist furnishing retail operation we have regrettably had to make 16 redundancies from across the business.

“We will continue to take and fulfil new orders and sell merchandise from existing stock for the benefit of creditors.

“We will be offering the business for sale as a going concern and have already had a number of parties expressing interest.”

Stephen Cave and Paul Rooney, from PwC's Business Recovery Services department, were appointed on Thursday 19th July as Joint Partnership Administrators of the specialist furnishing retailer, Fultons Fine Furnishing.

This follows their appointment on Wednesday 11 July 2012, as Administrative Receivers of a related property entity, Fultons Fine Furnishing Limited.

Fultons operates the well known furnishing retail activity from its flagship premises in Balmoral Plaza, Belfast and from its original outlet at Queen Street, Lurgan.

The various Fulton activities include a number of other commercial and residential property interests, which, at the time of appointment, collectively employed a total of 57 people.
