Administrators appointed to WR Refrigeration Limited - Update

Published at 15:44 PM on 29 October 2013

Further to the statement on 22 October 2013, the administrators of W R Refrigeration Limited (“WR” or “the Company”) have announced the sale of a number of WR’s major contracts to Integral, one of the largest independent providers of property maintenance services in the UK. The sale completed on 29 October 2013 and the exact terms are confidential.

Eddie Williams, joint administrator and Director, PwC said:

“We have received a number of expressions of interest for parts of the business and I am delighted to have completed a transaction with Integral that will preserve the on-going employment of 255 employees.

“We would like to thank both the customers and the company’s employees for their support over the last week, both in general and for this transaction.

“Our focus is now to continue to explore all options for the remaining parts of the business.  However, I am afraid that some redundancies now appear inevitable based on the viability of the company and we will look to support the employees at this difficult time.”

It's good to see that so many jobs have been secured by this deal. Business is tough, at the moment, for many firms, but there are signs that the sector is growing, fortunately.
