Changes to the GNIB appointment booking system - Ireland

Due to the anticipated increase in demand, the GNIB appointment online booking system will now allow non-EEA individuals who are required to register at the Burgh Quay Registration Office to book their appointments up to 10 weeks in advance.

Failure to do so in the appropriate time frames could lead to a lapse in permission to reside in Ireland.

What this means for you as an employer?

Employers should be mindful of the requirements in regards to booking appointments in Dublin, and request that non-EEA national employees complete any registrations or renewals well before the holiday period if required to do so.

GNIB renewal appointments should ideally be scheduled in the two weeks prior to the GNIB card expiry.
