Meet the Experts 2017 - the latest regulatory & accounting developments to help you stay ahead of the curve

27 October 2017

2017 marks the 19th year we’ll be holding Meet the Experts, Europe’s longest running and largest conference dedicated to financial reporting. The changes in accounting and regulation that are happening in the next 12 months are probably more significant than we have seen in over a decade so it’s critical to stay informed.

Held every November, Meet the Experts has been attended by over 7,900 delegates from over 60 countries who wish to get the latest updates from standard setters and regulators. Co-sponsored by the IFRS Foundation and PwC, we have a number of high-profile speakers from the IASB, FRRP, EFRAG and PwC who will be sharing their views. I am delighted to say Hans Hoogervorst, Chairman of the IASB, will be delivering our keynote presentation.

Yet again we’ve got such a packed agenda we’re holding two days of knowledge sharing as opposed to the more traditional one day format. The world of accounting is moving quickly with the Big 3 new standards (revenue, financial instruments and leasing) looming large on the horizon – indeed the first two of these will be effective from 1 January 2018 – only just over two months away at the time of writing!

The 2017 agenda offers a regulatory review and investor perspectives as well as tackling a number of technical accounting themes at the top of the CFO’s agenda, including the new leases standard (IFRS 16), accounting for financial instruments for all companies (IFRS 9), insights on transition to the new revenue standard (IFRS 15), the impact of changing technology for financial reporting and an update on the current economic environment.

You can find more information on how to book tickets here. We’ll be tweeting throughout the conference, so if it sounds like the topics would be of interest you can follow #Meettheexperts2017 across the two days for more information. We’ll also be releasing more in-depth articles of what was covered at a later date, so be sure to visit our PwC website after the event!
