Half of today consisted of conducting more interviews, this time for the crucial position of Office Administrator. Thankfully, the quality of applicants was high once more.
We spent the rest of the day working on the policies and processes which are being developed or reviewed for S4S. These include, but aren’t limited to, the HR Policy, the Financial Policy, the IT Policy, the Appraisal System, the Grievance and Appeals Procedures, the Code of Conduct and the staff handbook. All in all, it’s a lot of paperwork and a steep learning curve to get up to standard on Zimbabwean Labour Laws but it is a fascinating experience in understanding the local regulations and the requirements a small organisation requires.
I was asked by S4S to write a short piece on my time in Zimbabwe working with S4S to be broadcasted on Dutch radio which, I think, now makes me almost famous. Seriously though, it is also a great opportunity to broadcast to a wider network the great work PwC is doing with Beyond Sport.
