No rest for the wicked and we started Sunday early by preparing for next week’s recruitment drive. Because of its success in recent years, S4S is expanding and, as such, is recruiting new staff members to almost double its current capacity. This coming week, in addition to other work, I will be assisting S4S, and in particular Isabel de Vugt the S4S Director, by serving as an external advisor on their recruitment panel as they recruit a new Project Coordinator, an Office Administrator, a Parent Support Group Officer (who helps work with the parents of disabled children) and a Rehabilitation Technician.
Our involvement includes reviewing all applications, understanding the requirements of the organisation, developing questionnaires and scorecards, developing assessment exercises and bringing PwC’s experience of professionalising workplaces and recruiting the right people with the right skills.
In the afternoon, we decided to get “inspired” by the local scenery and drove up to a restaurant in the Vumba mountains to change scene. And what a scene! The never-ending views of the green valleys were certainly inspiring (and possibly a bit distracting). A group of monkeys came to play nearby in the mango trees and distract us which is something I shall be looking into bringing back to our office at More London.
